I think when it comes to energy policy, it’s important to develop alternative energy. But in the meantime, while we are doing that, I think it’s important to conserve. We could very easily save 30 percent of what we use. I’m not an energy expert, but from everything that I’ve read, it shouldn’t be that hard to do that.

One of the areas of focus should be home energy conservation. Homes should be sealed properly and home owners should own environmentally friendly appliances which would probably save homes 20 to 30 percent on their energy consumption.  We don't realize this, but we use a lot more energy in our homes than in our cars. So when it comes to global warming and carbon footprints, this is the quickest place to save energy.  It does not require a lot of new technology. What it requires is incentives and knowledge.
