IdeaRaiser FAQ

The FAQ contains answers to some of the more common questions about the IdeaRaiser program. If you don't find the information you are looking for, please contact us.

What is an IdeaRaiser?

IdeaRaisers are designed to get the ideas from Coloradans across the state about how best to resolve the issues that shape our day-to-day lives. The meetings are designed to bring people together to share their experiences about an important issue in their lives and then come up with innovative ideas for how to solve that issue. Mark Udall is committed to hearing from you. He will use the ideas you generate to inform his policy agenda while he runs for the U.S. Senate and once he is elected.

As a host, you will be facilitating this process.  We are asking you to invite all the people you know in order to talk about an issue that you care about. We will ask you to take notes on the conversation, or make a video of it, and send it to the campaign. Please also give us permission to post your stories and ideas on our website. Be sure you send the information in or we will miss your great ideas.

Does Mark actually see the stories?

Yes! Mark receives weekly reports on your stories and ideas.

Also check out our Make Your Mark page where you can read about stories from Coloradans all over the state.

How do I host my own IdeaRaiser?

It's easy! The first thing you need to do is download the IdeaRaiser packet which includes detailed instructions on how to plan your event.

This packet will take you through the process step by step.

You can also use our website to post your IdeaRaiser. Simply create an account and you will instantly have an abundance of organizing tools at your disposal. If you have an electronic contacts list with popular email programs like Gmail, Yahoo, HotMail, Microsoft Outlook or Macintosh's Address Book, you can upload your address books and generate email invitations to your event.

Please visit our Event Planning page to begin planning your event.

I am interested in hosting an IdeaRaiser but I don't have adequate space to accommodate 15 people, what do I do?

No problem, we have had IdeaRaisers in all sorts of venues.  Any place from your favorite coffee shop, restaurant, bars and taverns, and libraries community centers.

Remember, 15 people is the goal, but no group is too small. We still want to hear from you.

I can't host an IdeaRaiser but I have ideas, what do I do?

We still want to hear from you! The more input we can gather the better. The first thing you should do is use the event search tool to find an IdeaRaiser near you. If you don't see anything near you don't worry. Check back soon as events are constantly being added.

You can also send your story and ideas to us directly by visiting the idea submission page:
