Join Women United for Udall

Dear Friend:

We are writing today to ask you to join us in supporting a friend, a champion on issues of particular importance to women, and a candidate for U.S. Senate.

After 9 years serving in the U.S. House of Representatives, Mark Udall is running to serve all Coloradans in the U.S. Senate.  He is a man of incredible integrity and strong leadership.  He also shares the values and concerns of women across the state - including pay equity, quality education for every child and access to the information and services each woman needs to make her own decisions about reproductive health. We believe it is now up to us to make sure Mark Udall is elected to the U.S. Senate.

In the House, Mark was one of a handful of members who voted against the war in Iraq in 2002. He recognized the enormity of what was at stake for this country and cast his vote based on what he believed to be right for America.  He still believes that this war in Iraq is taking our country in the wrong direction - at home and abroad.

Mark is a long-time champion for protecting our clean water, clean air and western way of life.  He is leading the effort this year in Congress to promote the production of renewable energy and make it the centerpiece of our energy policy. The increased attention on renewable energy will reduce our dependence on sources of energy like coal and oil, as well as supporting local initiatives to generate power, rather than relying on foreign sources of energy. 

Mark recognizes that Colorado is changing and has been a champion for efforts to protect our remaining open lands and wild places.  He has led the effort in Congress to support some of our key western landscapes - Spanish Peaks, Rocky Mountain National Park and the Roan Plateau - and clearly recognizes the importance of the environment to the quality of our lives and the lives of our children.

Mark promotes innovations in addressing critical problems facing our families. He is working hard for solutions to our health care crisis, providing more health care assistance to uninsured children and looking for access to affordable health care for all Americans.  He has promoted a more effective program for access to prescription drugs and continues to advocate for the research necessary to find cures to our major illnesses.

Our country is crying out for a change in direction. As women, we need to play an important role in the effort to redirect America's future.  We are asking you to be a part of that future by helping us today.

Please join our Women for Udall Campaign. We are asking you to give some of your time and your energy and share information about Mark Udall with your friends and colleagues. We are asking you to assist the effort to raise funds for Mark to get the word out about his position on issues that are important to all of us.
